Pink got its power shoulders when the designers showcased their collections in the tints and shades of varied hues of pink. From skirts and trousers to jackets and shirts, runways were not only flooded in the peppiness of solid pink attires but the other hued ensembles were also seen studded with sequins and stones in bubblegum pink. Where women, from so many seasons, have preferred the serious and minimal looks of earthy and pastel colors, this season labels like Prada, Chanel, Erdem, Altuzarra and so on added the glee, happiness and optimism to clothing with hotter pinks, magentas, fuchsias and neon and bubblegum pinks.
Not only on the ramps and in the fashion weeks but also on the streets, Stars were seen adorned in vivid pinks. Naming a few- Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Miranda Kerr, Cate Blanchett, Anna Dello Russo and Laura Whitmore. Oh! How can we miss Paris Hilton’s never fading love for pink. Wink..!!
I think its time when women should put a halt to their hesitation of wearing pinks and get used to wearing this colour, as Pink is the new black this season. Find a shade that gels well with your skin and hair colour. For women with wheatish complexion- a paler pink is a perfect pick and for fairer women, a radiant or neon pink will rock.
Having mentioned about the trends of checks and plaids in my previous post and pink being one of the cardinal colors of vibgyor on the runway AW15, I thought why not amalgamate both and create a dress apt for pre-winters. As the heat in the sun-rays descends and weather in the Northern part of India drifts from extreme summer to winters, it’s time to bid farewell to chiffons and pure-cottons and welcome twills and blends.
The best part of residing in northern India is that we live so many seasons every year. Gives all the gorgeous ladies an alibi to shop and flaunt all the more. Wink!!
In my today’s post, I wear a gingham sheath dress with a double-breasted front. Made in cotton-twill, the dress does a complete justice to the bubblegum pink checks it is crafted in. Power shoulders, trims on the waist and sleeve-hems and double-stand collars add to the construction of the dress. This sheath is perfect for all body shapes and sizes.
I carried it with my Burberry clutch-bag and wore it with the block-heeled shoes in white by ASOS. Where pink lips and pink eye-shadow complimented my look, I added more colors by wearing blue on my nails and white in my feet.
