Hello my loves. I know it has been a while… I wanted to mellow out from the blog for sometime and it felt good to take the load off – to think, to live, to disconnect. A breather, that’s simply what I needed. I’ve always followed my intuition and maybe, that’s the reason there ain’t any precise explanation to why I haven’t been posting much off-lately. Life is full of surprises, with millions of inspiring opportunities all around and it’s so important to be present in the moment, with our eyes wide open, to see, to feel and to embrace it with open hands.
For the last couple of years, I had become overwrought by the number of things to do, and so much to think about that I had forgotten what it felt like to be bored, or what it felt like to have a lazy day where I do nothing, for real. But while on this short break, I cared more for simpler things, slower moments and challenged myself to think differently, to think outside of the box and especially outside of myself.
I had been spending a lot of time sketching and crafting my new Spring summer couture collection. One fine day, my phone rang and an unknown, very impressive voice asked me to showcase my collection at the Blenders Pride Fashion show, for two cities- Chandigarh and Dehradun. I said yes and since then working for the show has been a pleasure with massive pressure. There were nights where I and my entire team could barely sleep.
I always knew, that I would be a part of a colossal show one day, who knew the day was right there. I guess, following my instincts of taking a break from blogging and concentrating on product development was a good idea. While there was immense excitement to showcase my latest work in front of two thousand people, I had butterflies in my stomach as I wanted everyone to exceptionally love my work .
And then the big day was upon us. Starting with the trials, till the end of the show, my heart was beating at a speed double to the normal. I opened the show for both the cities, and Rocky S did the finale. Audience from both the capital cities – Chandigarh and Dehradun, responded amazingly to the showcase. When asked how much they liked the “Shruti S collection”, they had the entire colour sequence on their finger tips and named it chronologically. Beautiful models, huge stage and a ramp that felt like the Milky way – the aura was so so dreamy. I am glad to be a part of Seagrams Blenders Pride Magical Nights. Both the shows were a huge success and I would love to thank you all for your love, support and acceptance.
